His work can be found in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum Smithsonian Institution and his work is featured in many design publications.

Stephen was educated at the Sheffield City Polytechnic where he received a 1st Class BA Honors Degree in Industrial Design. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in London with a Masters Degree in Industrial Design.

After starting his professional career in London, Peart went on to work for frogdesign in Germany and California as design director for five years. In 1987 he established his own design consultancy VENT, in Campbell, California.
